From November 15 through December 31, 2007is
a good time to
assess your alternatives for 2008
coverage in a Medicare
Supplement plan or a Medicare Advantage Plan.
If you wish to have help in this process, call the church office (243-7691) and leave a message
for Larry Hedlin. Larry is a
volunteer for Senior Help Insurance information Program (SHIIP) and will be
glad to help you navigate through the often confusing evaluation process.
SHIIP - Senior Health Insurance Information Program - can help you find
answers to the important questions you have on Medicare, Medicare supplement
insurance, long term care insurance, and other health insurance issues.
Created in 1990 by the State of Iowa Insurance Division, SHIIP has helped
thousands of people on Medicare sort through confusing information:
- What is the Medicare Prescription Drug Program? And how do I sign up?
- I’m retiring. What kind of health insurance do I need?
- I can’t make sense of my Medicare statements and medical bills. What
do I do next?
- Do I need a Medicare supplement policy?
- How can I help my parents with health insurance?
SHIIP does not sell insurance or recommend policies, agents or specific
companies. It is a free, confidential service from the State of Iowa that
provides people on Medicare and concerned relatives or friends objective
information about their health insurance needs.
Sue Wittmack & Larry Hedlin have become SHIIP counselors and presenters,
sponsored by The Bridge. If you have any questions or want to set an
appointment to answer your Medicare questions please contact the office at
St. John’s and Sue or
Larry will contact you to set up an appointment.
