Christian Involvement
Council: Joni St. Pierre

The overall purpose is to provide the opportunities for our members to get
involved through intergenerational activities, small groups and other events
so they get to know each other and feel a sense of community.
Communications
Council: Rod Snavely
Staff: Denise Shadonix
Serves as a support service for other ministry teams in promoting major
events and oversees and advises communications both inside and outside the
parish; responsible for the parish advertising program. The mission of the
team is communicating and supporting the overall ministry of St. John’s to
members, potential members and to the greater community.
A Few Good People
Council: Blair Hansen
Staff: Pastor Mithelman, Sheryl Reed
Responsible for Kids’ Connection (Sunday School) for age 3 through grade 8.
Provides opportunities for intergenerational/family programming. The mission
of the team is to nurture the faith development of children and the families
through experiences that build trust, promote service and inspire love.
The Arts at St.
John's
Council: Betty Lemke

Responsible for the enhancement of the arts.
Global Mission
Council: Ed Slattery
Staff:
Responsible for raising the awareness of the people of St. John’s concerning
the global ministry of the ELCA and the issues of global peace and justice.
Health Ministry
Chair/Council: John May
Staff: Jean McKinney
The team’s mission is to work together and with others to continue the
healing ministry of the church, promoting the well-being of person we serve
by living the values of caring and compassion and respect to become a church
for all people.
Hospitality Ministry
Council: Jim Hanson
Staff: Pastor Mithelman
A ministry team that explores strategies to empower members to share God’s
story with each other and others in the community.
Music and Worship
Council: Greg Anderson
Staff: Larry Christensen
The team is responsible for seeing that worship is held in accordance with
the traditions of the Lutheran Church and recruiting, equipping and
supporting members for leadership in worship. The mission of the Music and
Worship Ministry Team is to facilitate worship that incarnates Jesus in our
world.
Property

To oversee maintenance (physical needs) of the church building. The mission
of the team is to provide safe and welcoming space for the congregation’s
ministry.
Rainbow Ministry

The mission of this team is to welcome all and support and encourage the St.
John’s faith community to be open and welcoming without regard to age, race,
nationality, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic or family status or
physical or mental abilities.
Stewardship

The team helps to communicate the joy of Christ-centered giving, celebrates
the spirit of our congregation’s life and mission, and prayerfully
encourages growth in the gifts of life, generosity, mission and hope in our
congregation and among those we seek to serve.
Youth

Staff: Megan Clausen
Promoting and guiding our young people as tomorrow’s citizens and leaders on
a positive, spiritual, prayerful and conscientious journey through
scripture, fellowship, study, discussion and learning about the individual
our Lord wants us to be.
