A sincere desire to have yourself or your child baptized in Jesus name, and
to join in the family of Christ is the only requirement St. John's has for
those wishing to be baptized at our font. You need not be a Lutheran to have
your child baptized here, but we do encourage families to join together.
Once baptized here, you or your child automatically become a member of
St. John's. Baptisms are done as part of our regular worship services
as they are a celebration for family and congregation, and of course to the
glory of God. If you are an adult seeking to be baptized, you will need to
meet with a pastor before your baptism.
If you have never had a child baptized before at St. John's you will need
to have a baptismal class. These are usually set up by the pastor. Sponsors
(Godparents) are welcome to attend the class but it is not necessary.
Scheduling for the both the class and baptism are fairly flexible. To
